Taylor Trial Chamber Schedules Status Conference for March 7, 2011

On March 4, 2011, the Taylor Trial Chamber at the Special Court for Sierra Leone issued a scheduling order for a status conference to be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. (Hague time). This status conference, which the judges considered the most efficient way to deal with these issues, follows hot on the heels of the Appeals Chamber decision the previous day reversing the Trial Chamber's majority decision to refuse to accept the Defence Final Brief.

Six items were put on the agenda for the status conference:

1. The currently outstanding Prosecution Motion to Substitute its Final Brief.
2. The question whether the Chamber should accept the Defence Corrigendum to its Final Brief.
3. The length and format of the Corrected Defence Final Brief.
4. The filing of written responses to the final trial briefs.
5. The date and time for Defence Closing Arguments.
6. The date and time for any rebuttal arguments.
